i thoroughly enjoyed both. the wire kind of fizzled out in season 5 and a pretty weak season 2, but all things considered, it's more than just a show or a story. it feels much more important.

I think The Wire was better because it was more realistic. You hardly knew what was going to happen in each episode. The dialogue and events seemed real.

Breaking Bad was great but when you think about it, as a viewer you had suspend your beliefs to accept a lot of the things that happened on the show. Half of the things that happened had to be perfect for it to work out the way it did.
