HBO didn't make it clear. I remember his trainer was kind of shaking his head looking at the ref was he waved it off. But then again there wasn't much complaining about it, the slim chance he had of knocking out Vitali was not worth getting pounded on for another two rounds.

Which makes me think its the corner. I don't recall ever seeing a ref stop a fight in such a way.
