HBO series rarely end with the good guys(favourites) winning.

McNulty and the cops won in The Wire though.

D'Angelo maybe was relatively "good", compared to his peers, but he was still helping supply heroin to addicts, which ruined their lives.

Omar was the boogeyman for the bad guys, but he took matters into his own hands, an anti hero.

The "good" (depends on the viewers perspective) guys lived in the end.

Marlo got out but he had no respect. Omar had more respect than him even in death. No one even remembers Omar as being shot by a kid, the myth was that he went out guns blazing and outnumbered. No one in the corner knew who Marlo was, he has no respect, he lost.
