If two different cats drink from a water bowl, should I wash it often?

Could it cause any infections with some cats if I don't ever so often wash it with soap to get some of the more gunkier stuff out of the bowl? Also, what about their food-bowls or is that more different? Should I was that often with soap aswell? I think my cat is getting better and better now.

She stopped the heavy breathing, its getting lighter. Maybe she either had a mild flu or maybe I should be washing their water and food bowls more often? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also if one of my cats is dumb and will eat their puke after they throw up to hide the fact they puke, can that make them ill sick in heavy breathing patterns some times?

Cats drink out of toilets, mud puddles and swimming pools. I think they are ok.
