  • starting to realize that this backlash against gonzales, a great fighter that most of you didn't even know about until he came to HBO and america, is insecurity from mayweather fans about another fighter;s greatness.

yeah, when your matchmaking isn't entirely based on making money you fall off when you are in your 30's, especially when you're a tiny little dude. doesn't mean you're not great. means you were matched the way boxers in the past have traditionally been matched, which was to make entertaining fights [historically it's been to sell tickets at the gate.]

if you can't watch chocolatito in his prime and realize that he was special and great you don't know what you're looking at.

and if you wathced him on saturday and thought he was still in his prime and simply fought a guy his size, you're again an idiot.

What did he do after the first knockdown? Did he clinch to buy time? No. Did he jab & move to keep the guy at bay and try to counter? No. He did what he's always done. Went face first and tried to outslug a guy who was hitting harder and faster. If you know the other guy is faster and hitting harder & your punches aren't having much of an affect why go back to brawling? Because he had nothing else in his toolbag. #1 p4p my ass.

      a little bigger

that guy was a career 115 lber. hell, you boxrec queers shou;dn;t even need to look at the weights to see two gusy in the ring who were not the same size.

just LOL at the idea that chocolatito was a brawler. you are unfit to watch boxing.

your narrative is way, way off if you're taking one tune up fight or a fight here or there between championship fights to stay busy as evidence that he was a 112 lber all along. he was 5'3" tall and he was fighting championship level fights for years [almost 8 of them] prior to moving permanently to 112 lbs

"he foght at 112 lbs once, he was actually a 112 lber all along. nevermind the fact that he was actually a 105 and 108 lber for almost an entire decade."

keep digging, i'll get you a shovel. i love seeing this narrative discrediting chocolatito's career after he was very obviously on the decline and took a beating, or that he had hard fights in his 4th weight class and when he was in his late 20's and 30's, a decade into a career as a come forward and aggressive puncher, and well after most tiny little boxers peak.

he was not a bigger guy fighting smaller guys. he was a minimum weight and a 108 lber literally for long enough to be a hall of famer. had a half a decade run as champion at 105 and 108 lbs, and weighed exactly 108 lbs when he debuted.
He started to decline when he faced real great opposition, not old men or bums like Arroyo, or drained fighters like Estrada in 108 pounds.

        Nope.

Gonzalez had a lot of fights in other weights in his career in 105-112 pounds, he was not a small fighter.

He said today that he has problems to make 115 and he wants to fight for a title in 118 pounds.

        Stop with the excuses..

what gonzales doesn't have is a manufactured record that allows him to continue to make mone well into his 30's. he's also a tiny guy, and they peak early in life. he was maneuvered into hard fights and had a style that lead to him hitting the wall you saw the other night, but you could also see the decline for years. had his face broken, was not the combination he used to be, hard fight with cuadras, a bigger guy by a long shot if you know what you're looking at, where he started to really show his age.

i saw some black supremecist called "boxing ego" on the istagram trying to compare him to "4 division champion" adrien broner.

"we got 4 belts, yall mad"
"he got 4 belts, yall praise."

you should see the guy's comment section. it's hard line black supremecists saying broner is better than chocolatito, and real boxing fans saying "see chocolatito in the hall, see broner in prison in 5 years."

          About billions doe.
          He never unified.

And his opposition was trash, except in 115 pounds.

You are a fuc.king ignorant, nobody knows more the small weights than me in this forum.

Choco was champ for first time vs Niida, a guy that had draws in title fights vs B Classes.

Then he was champ in 108 vs Chango Vargas, a B class.

Then he was champ in 112 pounds vs the worst champ of the weight: Yaegashi, a loser, he always loss all his big fights.

Melindk K.Oed him in one round months ago.

Only had 3 great rivals: Estrada DRAINED in 108 pounds, Cuadras and Sor.

And he never was clear, he never has great quality like real legends.

This is some of the biggest crock of **** i've read regarding Floyd Mayweather's resume comparison to someone else'.

They don't compare wtf you talking about NE?

The fact that at 130-135 Floyd was fighting Welterweights on fight night, who were ranked #1 at 130-135 says all you need to know. ****ing Castillo and Corrales were WELTERWEIGHTS on fight night.

                  Floyd was rehydrating 2-3lbs.

Gonzalez is never at a size disadvantage because dude rehydrates 12-14lbs.

It's not even close. Their 30 year wins are not close.

And you are completely ignoring the REST of the fanbases that don't like Gonzalez and think he's overrated. You know, like the Mexican fanbase. It's not ALL about Floyd and his fans every time out.
