I think Phil did the right thing. He has earned the right to make certain demands. He's playing hard to get, but the Lakers aren't showing any loyalty either. If/when things don't work out with Mike D'Antoni, I expect the Lakers FO to come crawling to Phil and basically begging him to take the job.

I agree. He asked for too much, but at the same time the Lakers have a lot more to gain down the line. He tried to get the same deal that Pat Riley got with the Miami Heat, but I don't think Phil would be as good of a GM as Riley is. He should stick to what he knows best.
