        Yeah, that's the difference between how those 2 fights ended. Davis had taken a lot of punishment, and the ref was probably thinking about stopping the fight there anyway, even if he hadn't waved a hand.

        Imo, it would have been stopped already, except Davis has that reputation as a big puncher. Punchers can turn a fight around or end it at any time, even when they're getting the crap beat out of them.

        Historically, the worst "quit" ever has got to be Roberto Duran in the rematch with SRL. That was very similar to Walters against Loma, except Duran had the reputation of being one of boxing's great "warriors" - the kind of guy who would rather die than quit.
