MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao rekindles his passion for music when he stages a free concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, September 1.
Simultaneous with the event is the launching of Pac token, Pacquiao’s own cryptocurrency, in collaboration with Singapore-based Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX).
According to Pacquiao, a Philippine senator and boxing’s lone eight-division world champion, he will sing between 8 to 10 songs, solo or duet.
Admitting that his vocal skills are really not on a professional level, Pacquiao said local, and probably other regional artists would also perform in the event to be beamed live all over Asia.
In the course of his legendary ring career, Pacquiao has held several mini victory concerts, right after his fights.
Among his favorite songs are Lalaban Ako, Para sa Yo, Ordinary Song, Sometimes When We Touch, and Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You.
Pacquiao, who plays the guitar and piano, may also include, Bisayan and Christian praise songs in the concert set list.
The Pac token, which is intended for the global market, will enable fans to interact with Pacquiao via live-streaming and other social media platforms. It can also be used as payment for purchases of Pacquiao merchandise at discounted rates and will give them the opportunity to receive gifts and loyalty incentives.
The Manny Pacquiao Live in Concert 2019 and Pac token launching were announced in a media conference Friday night, June 14, at Makati Shangri-La.
Pacquiao will be leaving for Los Angeles on Saturday, June 15 to continue his preparations for his World Boxing Association unification title fight with Keith Thurman on July 20 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. – Rappler.com
