It was definitely brittle at lightweight, but when he moved up to 140 it was better. Just look at some of the flush shots that Maidana landed without him even blinking.

The shot that Garcia landed had Khan moving straight into it. And Canelo was too big so it stands to reason that he got knocked out there.

So yeah, I don't think it's as bad as some say.

His chin is below average and he's also defensivley very flawed.

If he had good defence he'd probably get away with his chin as is but he doesnt so he gets caught flush with shots he doesnt see coming which = the ko's

Khan has often been said to have a glass jaw, but does he really, or is it just below-average? He took punches from Maidana and never went down, and Canelo and Prescott are hard punchers.

Glass might be taking it a notch far... below championship level chin for sure, probably below average chin in general. Huge heart though and in his defense although I hate him as a person the times he was iced cold on the ground were from Canelo and Prescott.

Boxing purists and neutrals would disagree. Khan actually takes most shots well when he sees it coming.

The problem is his lack of boxing IQ which means even an obvious punch sometimes would be a punch that he didn't see coming and those are the punches that take fighters out. Whereas other fighters would possibly be able to ride out the shots they didn't see coming Khan cannot since he puts everything into his flurries and is completely all in. Just begging to get iced.

This tends to happen mid Khan flurry. It's a shame the kid didn't start out with Virgil because Virgil did instill some noticeable fundamentals in his style. It was probably too late to instill the discipline to stick to a game plan though.

Everything has its positives and negatives. Speed included.

But like someone said its the shots he doesn't see coming, whenever he has been caught, its been by a clean, flush shot, with full force and in between combos...

Thats how you beat Khan, catch him in between a flurry, or when he has his hands down, but not every boxer can do this, especially those that struggle with his hand speed or dont have the best timing.

Even with a better chin, Khan will still have these flaws and hit the canvas, you cant leave your chin hanging in the air like he does.

If he is to fight again, he needs a tune up and then should fight Brook and call it a day, its the perfect time what with his profile going back up with Im A Celeb, and he is doing quite well

From what it looks like, our first impression is that his chin is weak. However, if you look closely, his chin is iron. What is really happening is when he gets hit, he gets so filled with rage that it causes a lack of blood flow to his brain causing him to feint. It is his temper holding him back from greatness. Yeah that's it.

It's not that bad. Only big punchers have knocked him out. Khan is at the level where he is fighting champions and top contenders. At that level his chin is average at best. Khan has the same problem Terry Norris and Judah had. He has slow recovery. Once he gets hurt he stays hurt even after the one minute break between rounds. Some boxers like Trinidad have very fast good powers of recovery. Trinidad was knocked down often but he would be back on his feet in a flash and be right back on the attack and as good as new. He was very rugged. Khan can't do that. He is too fragile at the top level. Khan's chin isn't so bad that average punchers can easily hurt him. Only Canelo KOed Khan with one punch and that vicious punch might have KOed almost anyone near that weight class.

In the grand scheme of things, no it's not that bad, there are thousands and thousands of fighters who can't take punches from domestic level fighters.

At the level he fights at, I would say it's below average. Far too much is made of it though and I agree with people who say he gets hit by punches he doesn't see.

His conditioning and toughness are excellent though, that probably helps mask his chin issues sometimes.
