Aquino III on Sunday evening, as the people of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities and several other areas in Visayas and Mindanao grappled with the devastation of tropical storm Sendong? Apparently, partying with his security personnel in Malacanang, and laughing and exchanging jokes with actresses.

This was according to a post on Twitter by actress Valerie Concepcion on Sunday, the same day the combined death toll in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan climbed to more than 600.

I talked to some friends who are close to the president and this is what they say about this issue.

"The title of the article and most of the tweets about it are grossly unfair to pnoy. Most of the time since Sendong hit Mindanao and the Visayas islands, he was wearing a long face incessantly talking to the PNP, AFP, DSWD, DOH, and other government agencies he thinks must be involved in the rescue/relief operation. In fact, some people were commenting why he is micro-managing the whole thing. I honestly don't know why this didn't make the morning headlines. I guess, pnoy does not know how to use crisis such as this to make pogi points."

"He passed by the PSG xmas party to join his long time friends there for a little chat and some laughter, so whats wrong with that? In fact, it was really refreshing to see him laugh and smile as he had rarely done so since the disaster started."




I think Pnoy needs a good PR team. Maka apply nga hehe.
