A Shorter Reach Fighter CAN outbox a Longer Reach Fighter

    Yes - shorter arms are MUCH better for infighting.

    You can turn your hooks over quicker on the inside, and dig in with uppercuts.

    I think it'd be easier to be the guy with the longer reach, but if utilized properly, long arms can be a hinderance, and short arms can be an advantage.

      there are guys with reach that dont even use it....

      margarito, amir khan, paul williams before the accident....

        Right? Man especially Williams - he had such a huge advantage at WW... And unlike Margarito, he had speed and athleticism to utilize that distance.

        Khan tries to use it, but his lack of timing, and use of defense/distance, causes him to either be on the outside throwing, or letting his opponents come in while keeping his guard up - he can't really transition between offense and defense while keeping range.

        Margarito tried to use it in the first few rounds against Pacquiao, throwing like 50 jabs, but Pac's quick feet, and Margarito's slow feet, allowed Pac to just jump in range and fire off combinations at will.
