Again, I can list off failed capitalist countries all day. A lot of the countries you listed aren't socialist at all anyway.

Cuba is the perfect example of socialism working, one of the best fee health care systems in the world, and they have a better literacy rate than America despite the fact they are completely broke.
Countries are broke due to their economic systems. Venezuelans aren't starving right now because of "internal" problems, its because they have a bunch of idiots running their economy. No country can be truly successful without some form of market capitalism, China found this out at the turn of the century and once it pivoted from socialist Venezuelan styled economic system they quickly became the second largest economy in the world.

Also to point to Cuba as socialism working, when admitting they are completely broke is an oxymoron. Their healthcare system is barely holding together, your ordinary folks have to bring their own bed-sheets, soaps, and towels when they are staying overnight at the hospital.

And again, we have corporate socialism, that is a benefit to the rich of a capitalist system. Republicans are passing a budget that will increase debt by 9 trillion. It's mostly tax breaks for the rich. That's just the beginning with this president.

Your going to pay for it for the rest of your life, just like your paying for all of our wars, and our bailout to wall street. Enjoy your capitalistic corporate socialism.

I'm sure the nords will be more than happy to keep their system and use the money towards something that will benefit all of society and not just the rich.
I don't understand why people have such a hard on for the American rich. They don't bother me, and they shouldn't bother your average American who on average makes more money than your European and who can afford far more material items than just about any other person in the world. If a car costs 20K in the USA its 60-80K in your beloved Nordic countries. I'll stick with our big bad "corporate capitalism" and enjoy my steak for $22 vs $44 in Denmark. I'll also use all of my left over money from not being taxed to death to buy myself health insurance.

Soviet Russia failed for the same reason it's failing now, their leaders keep all of the money for themselves while their people have nothing.

Not to mention Soviet Russia was in war 24/7 getting slaughtered by everyone.

None of that is socialism, if anything, that's more capitalistic reasoning
The only people who could keep all the money for themselves were government officials who ran the economy, since private ownership of land and business (ie market economy aka capitalism) was banned in the Soviet Union.

There is definitely some brainwashing going on, but it's certainly on your behalf. I think you've read the communist manifesto one too many times.

It's all too ironic that the most communistic country in history of the world was an utter failure, while the most capitalistic country in history turned out to be the worlds greatest success story.

Oh but wait its because of their leaders....! Yeah because their leaders thought employing socialism/communism was a good idea.

Funny thing is countries like Denmark and Sweden don't consider themselves socialist countries. I still remember when Denmark told Bernie to shut up and stop using them as an example for his socialist agenda.

There's literally zero examples of a successful modern day socialist country.

Its pretty clear a hybrid system works best.

Pure examples of either have been pretty disastrous.

Everyone forgetting the definition of Socialism in this thread.

When you see DPRK referred to as Socialist it's probably an indication that it's not worth trying to discuss this.

I agree with this, even America being the capitalistic symbol of the world still employ social programs such as food stamps, welfare, and medicare.

The top 5 happiest countries in the world are all Nordic countries which are heavily socialist democracies. These studies are done by non-biased en****** and study every aspect of society.

Every year, it's the same top 5 countries. It's working so well, one if them is experimenting with just flat out giving people a monthly check for nothing to see how it works.
The Nordics are a bunch of losers, that's why they like socialism. They all live in tiny apartments and drive volvo's and other ****ty brands of car.

Imagine growing up in a place where your health care was fully paid for, your college was fully paid for, you knew you had a job waiting for you with a pension, your streets were clean, water was clean, no crime, no wars, no companies ripping off the tax payers.

That's why they are happy, they have everything they need, no need to screw other people over or be geeedy.

And ps, we already have socialism, it's called corporate socialism. Huge tax breaks for the rich and subsidies to fortune 500 companies.

You pay taxes, wall mart doesn't, and they receive subsides, that makes sense to you? You've been brainwashed son, they want to believe you don't deserve more while they take everything from you.

                      That's capitalism....
Nothings "free" you stupid idiot. They pay BIG TIME with their taxes. They have nothing left at the end of the month. Their essentially working just to get by, they can't afford anything special.

Free socialist universities are overpopulated and the degrees aren't worth the paper they're written on. If you want a top job you need Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT, Yale or some other top place.

All of these socialist countries are collapsing because they can't afford to pay for the hand outs for the millions of Muslim migrants. In a few decades when their natural resources run out they'll be forced to tax people 90% or face defaulting on their debt.
