Default Who Was Further Pass Prime in Mayweather-Pacquiao

I know I know. Floyd retired before time could get to him. manny still going strong and we have yet to see a shot pacquiao.

We don't know what neither of them look like washed up.

That being said

Floyd's prime being Ndou-Marquez.

manny prime being Morales II-margarito.

Which fighter was farther away from his prime when they met in 2015?

Was Floyd?

Go watch his fights from the mid 2000ís compared to after the Marquez fight. His legs had clearly gotten much older and he wasnít quite as sharp. He was winning fights on ring IQ rather than physical abilities.

I actually noticed a significant change in his legs from the Marquez fight to the Cotto fight. The Marquez fight was the last time he really had spring in his legs and they looked like a young fighter.

Floyd 3 prior fights to beating pacquiao

Floyd was a boxing god when he schooled Canelo

Convincingly beat Maidana who pushed him hard

Meanwhile manny had

Algieri
Timmeh
Rios

manny made easy work of Algieri and Rios

- -If TUE 50 -0 thought he could beat Manny in 2010, he wouldn't have fled the date and venue at the MGM for that fight.

Whose closer to the Vegas crooks than TUE? That's all you need to know about him.

Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's prime was 2008-2011

He was at his peak then.

2011 you started to see a decline in Pacquiao.

Age and the hard fight against Margarito took a lot out of them.

His energy, work rate, speed and power all dropped of since then and have been steadily declining.

Pacquiao is much more heavily reliant on his athleticism than Floyd is. Floyd is much more of a tactician and that does not fade over time, only improves.

When they fought Pacquiao was probably at 70% of his prime at that age.

Mayweather was probably still at 95%

The oddsmakers seen the decline as well, and from being even with the bookies in 2009/2010, with some giving Pacquiao an edge, they made Mayweather favorite when they fought.

Floyd defensively was still very good, but offensively he was very past prime by that point. His hands couldn't keep up with his training, and his legs were good for avoiding punches but not for throwing combinations.

Nonsense

Floyd from the mid 2000ís was a very different fighter from around 2009 onwards. if you canít see that, then you donít know boxing.

I guess Floyd is the only boxer that never ages or loses abilities though, according to people on here. The only sports person in history that never gets old.

If anyone thinks Floyd hadnít got old by his mid 30ís, they are just being ridiculous. His ring IQ was winning him fights by that point. His physical abilities had clearly diminished. He was still physically gifted but not to the level he once was. Even Roach thought Pac could beat him simply on the basis that he felt Floyd legs were gone, which they were in comparison to before.

Wait, what? 95%? How do you even come up with that? You do know Mayweather Jr. is older physiologically and 130+ amateur fights older as well right?
