Trump made that promise to swing that pendulum even further back to the right, in their favor. But the truth is they just can't compete on an even playing field. Look at the support Trump has from these young white males who sit in the house all day playing video games and online trolling. They think feminism is the reason they can't get a woman. They've convinced themselves so much that they allowed a gay man (Milo Yiannopoulos, who doesn't even like women, tell them that feminism is the problem. And paid him very well to travel the country and tell them that.
And they're against globalism because they can't tilt the scales in their favor in a global economy. That's why Trump's message of economic isolation appealed to them. Think about it, when have Republicans ever been pro-tariffs and pro-protectionism? Shutting ourselves off from the rest of the world when it comes to trade? Not until they saw you can't tilt the scales in a global economy. Those people in China will do your job for $2/hr. That's the capitalism you claimed to love so much when you were actually benefiting from crony-capitalism and nepotism-capitalism.
Once you understand what this is really all about then you'll understand why they sit back and watch Trump defile the office of the Presidency and still support him. They can hear him on tape colluding with Putin and it won't matter. All that matters is Trump made them a promise to take back their America. Even if that means a third world America. They don't care as long as it's theirs.

These people cannot be reasoned with. When someone calls themselves a deplorable, believe them

Yet, Obama received 40% of the white vote against Romney, and it was the white vote that got him elected to office in 2008 and 2012. So much for your theory of lazy, angry, racist whites who sit in the house all day playing video games and trolling online.
Obama duped his own race into believing in hope and change. He ran on the race card and the Democrat establishment fear that their own identity politics have fed Trump’s rise. But they’d rather lose elections than forfeit a decade’s worth of race and gender investments.
Democrats and liberals fear Trump because they have long preached to their constituents that demographics come first. Identity politics gave them some short term victories, but when your party only panders to the uber-wealthy and the promises made to double-down on handouts to the low/no-income voters.
LBJ promised he'd have them voting Democrat for the next 200 years if they gave them social services and endless handouts at tax-payers expense. Looks like it worked like a charm.Last edited by GhostofDempsey; 07-18-2018, 03:29 PM.

They just asked he Press Sec. about this and she said it was brought up but the President hasn't decided yet, he'll make a statement on it. WTF????
Originally posted by Motorcity Cobra View PostTrump said Putin's suggestion that we send former U.S. Ambassadors to Russia to be interrogated was a "great idea". I wonder how safe Ambassador Huntsman is feeling over in Russia right now knowing the POTUS thinks it's a great idea for Russia to interrogate fmr US ambassadors.
I really hope Trump did not agree with this "great deal" with Putin in Helsinki: "Russia wants to question Christopher Steele, Michael McFaul, top politicians for aiding Bill Browder" — RT World News https://t.co/Tv1q6pBNUF
— Michael McFaul (@McFaul) July 18, 2018
TASS-- an official agency of the Russian government-- has stated that the Russian authorities are seeking to arrest several US government officials in connection with alleged Browder money laundering scheme to help Clinton campaign. Sorry, but that is a very serious accusation. https://t.co/dbx7U6mnH4

As I discuss in detail in From Cold War to Hot Peace, Putin has been harassing me for a long time. That he now wants to arrest me, however, takes it to a new level. I expect my government to defend me and my colleagues, in public and private.
— Michael McFaul (@McFaul) July 18, 2018
I am not an "associate" of Bill Browder. I am the former US ambassador to Russia. Putin is seeking to arrest a former Ambassador. Please understand how outrageous this act is, discussed no less between our two presidents https://t.co/A1pPQZr9dJ
— Michael McFaul (@McFaul) July 18, 2018
Even during the Stalin era, the Soviet government never had the audacity to try to arrest US government officials. Think about that.
