Ward was obligated to give Kov a rematch, just like he was obligated to fight him when he signed his 3 fight HBO deal. Comparing that situation to GGG and Jacobs or whoever else is pretty stupid. Completely different scenarios

No calls for a Jacobs rematch instead of waiting on Canelo. If the Canelo fight does get done GGG would have been out of the ring for 8 months. Why didn't he have an interim fight? We all know that Canelo fight wouldn't happen until May. So why not take on Derevyanchenko or Jermall Charlo or Jacobs or Andrade? Why aren't his fans complaining about his long layoff now?
Because in 2016 Golovkin had already planned to fight a third time before EOY. And Jacobs said he had a date to fight in December. So everyone expected the fight to happen in December 2016. Not in 2017.

But in 2018, he didn't plan to fight three times. He will fight twice.

Understand the difference? I was missing your anti Golovkin BS posts. Easy to solve tho.

He planned to fight 3 times in 2017 to. But skipped the Saunders fight. So he's a 2 times a year fighter now? So now ya;ll fans who used to whine if he didn't fight 3-4 times a year are now OK with him fighting twice a year? The MW division looks a lot better now than it did when the top 3-4 fights a year was Wade, Monroe Jr, Murray, Lemieux, Stevens, Rosado and the likes. Some real competition in the MW division now. Some hungry young lions.

Golovkin is 35 now. He fought 3-4 times a year during his prime. I don't think it's fair to expect him to fight 3 times a year now.

I think he deserved the Canelo match and now he should fight BJS, not Canelo. But he will choose Canelo because of the money.

BTW, the MW division was always packed during 2010-2016. It's just that the top5 MWs during that time were cowards and didn't want to face GGG. Pirog the only exception.

Loeffler and Gennady were cowards. K2 had him since 2011. It took 3 years for the Klitchko's to fork up money for a WBA mando spot for the Super belt? That's cause Gennady felt more comfortable fighting bums as was K2's plan, or as you said, "cowards" was the K2 team. Gennady since 2006, with his calibre, didn't rank in other orgs to climb up faster? You think Loeffler or the Klitchko's didn't have that kindof money?

Wow, it actually is. I thought he had a longer stretch earlier in his career, but this would be 8 months of inactivity.

                This was expected though.

and remember all tht sht about his "dream" to be undisputed. saunders has been calling him out nonstop and ggg doesn't even acknowledge him. that shows that not only does he lack honor but he's a damn liar. he always said his goal was all the belts now we see him being canelo's byatch sitting on ice waitin for ca$hnelo to bless him with another bag 💰.

remember ggg calling canelo "businessman" when the fight vs khan was announced. saying canelo cares more about money than who's the best. this the same mofo that wanted to fight 40 year old retired floyd at 154.

ggg showing he is a bidness man his damn self. the saunders fight could've been taken place by now.

                  all da belts doe..
Ward had a rematch clause with Kovalev, got a gift decision, then had the rematch contract torn up and rewritten by threatening to retire unless Kovalev basically fought him again for nothing.

GGG gave Jacobs more than he was entitled to as mando and beat him by unanimous decision. There was no rematch clause for that fight and Danny himself didn't even ask for a rematch.

But Ward has honour and Golovkin has none. Yeah right.

Did you miss all the articles and news reports about Oscar threatening to take the Canelo fight off the table if GGG fought anybody else while waiting for Saul?

GGG had been fighting 3/4 times per year his whole career. He let himself gain too much weight waiting for Canelo first time around, but I don't think that will happen this time.
