He had a guy named Floyd Mayweather that did pretty well for himself. He went from fighting on KO nation in front of 1500 people with Top Rank to selling out arenas in vegas & fighting on PPV

Floyd was headlining shows and selling PPV's when he was signed to Top Rank.

How can you become a star when you only fight once a year?

They rely on the Tanks, Broners and Easters too much. Try and sell something that is relatable to low lifes. Then allow Spence to rant for 15 minutes on why he wont fight p4p king Crawford. All these small things matter. I mean, i guarantee every PBC on Showtime card will now show Broner standing and blocking the view of the crowd and giving the middle finger lol. Over and over and over and over........spent to many fox cards on berto, Victor Ortiz, Guerrero etc etc. They have great guys to watch but they inactive as hell. Spence wanted 4 fights and has had two. But if the fighters are happy with it then it is what it is

He was on one PPV and he was the B-side against Gatti on a card promoted by Main Events

Yeah I think the average, respectable American sports fan finds a lot of the pbc stable to be pretty dislikable and hard to support .

So all that is needed to make one a star is headlining shows & selling PPV's? Was Ward a superstar before he retired? Is Bud a superstar now?

And TR only had him during his first two PPV's (Gatti, which technically Main Events promoted & Zab, which was panned by alot/most fans for happening at all since Zab took a L right before that fight) which are still 2 of his 3 worst selling PPV's ever.

Floyd didn't really reach super stardom levels until he fought Oscar in 2007 one year post Top Rank. And if you'll remember that was a fight Floyd was laughed at by Bob for wanting. So maybe Floyd NEVER reaches super stardom with Bob cuz Bob wasn't helping him get the fights he needed to become the star he would become with said fights & his persona.

Any time a haymon fighter scores a signature win they ar einactive for months and then return to fight a nobody.

Take spence, An aggressive powerful fighter with a marquee win over Brook, since then he fought a shot fighter and a nobody.

Stars were built by the likes of King, Arum and HBO involvement with a continual string of high quality opponents. Haymon doesn't have any of that.
