Is Adrien Broner's career officially over if he loses or badly robs Theophane?

Crazy to think that just as little as 4 years ago he was being groomed as the next PPV star and the fighter of the decade by some. He had just blasted through the Olympian Escobedo, Perez as well as DeMarco. He then looked a little off against 5'3" Gavin Rees then proceeded to barely scrap by a shot Paulie Malignaggi. It all seemed to have gone downhill from there.

Was the huge size advantage he had at the lower weights a big factor in his early success? And now that he's the same size as his opposition he simply isn't very good?

I didnt think he would be a PPV star tbh. I'm not sure why some where claiming he was the new Mayweather, sure he tries to use shoulder rolls and imitate Mayweather style somewhat but he has neither the reflexes or the boxing intelligence to pull it off. He always utilizes a wide stance and tries to focus on power but as a result he's often flat-footed and gets caught cleanly.

Personally I think his career is already over regardless of the theophane fight. He needs time and room to set up his shots. As a result he struggles against pressure fighters - take the Maidana or Porter fight as an example. He wasn't given time and space to pick his shots and simply couldn't adapt to the situation.

Then you see him outside the ring, it appears like he isnt taking his training or boxing in general very seriously.

Broner is a talented self-promoter, if only a mediocre boxer, and sometimes self-promotion can trump actual boxing ability in this shallow, materialistic, image-orientated world.

Well he didn't really rob Paulie. It was a close fight, but Broner definitely won.

the opposite would be someone like bradley who walked the walk but never seemed to have a fanbase
