they just basically require a background test (my records clean never been arrested) and a polygraph test and the physical test (easy) and that easy exam which ive seen samples of on the web...

and there hiring applicaints with a meir ged,,with 20 college hours they mostly care if your in shape and pass the physical exam seen a example test it looks easy the physical part i already have

Yes technically. But in my state, advanced education is preferred and plenty of candidates get turned down. I don't see too many cowboys running around here, with a badge.

Hence when I see a petty protest against Police every now and then, I dismiss it immediately and take the Cops side.

$18 per hour is crap.

I make $27 an hour as a process tech for Dow Chemical, plus an extra $15,000/year for getting the HEAT team certificate which is basic fire fighter training at Texas A&M. Paid for by the plant. Look into Process Technology. Only 2 years for the PTECH degree.
