Yet people put on him on this pedestal as being such a great boxer when someone like AJ could probably beat him with one hand.

This is why i dont take what Floyd says seriously, about him being the best of all time, being above Ali etc
Unless you can actually beat Ali in the ring how can you say youre above him? Lets face it, Ali would knock Floyd out.

Take away this P4P hypothetical BS and stick to boxing and Floyd doesnt have a leg to stand on. Yea hes a great small fighter but against guys over 6 feet and weigh 168lbs hes just not

HBO Show time boxing and all the other boxers' livelihoods relied on Mayweather near the end of his career. they needed him to be the biggest star to bring in the money.

They hyped his defense etc..... which ushered in Andre Ward. People do not like watching defensive boxing with illegal tactics. Andre Ward is a fact of this, which is why nobody cares about him.

but the hype machine was just so strong behind mayweather that they had him as the most skilled boxer of all time and made sheeps want to watch manhugging and running as sweet science. Yet every time after they watched his fights, people felt ripped off.
There are weight classes for a reason. That is part of Boxing. Dont like it? Watch a different sport. And I like defense.

Exactly this.^ We have weight classes, from minimumweight (105 #), to HW. I appreciate every single weight class as its own entity. All I ask, is that a Fighter dominates his DIVISION. I dont expect someone running for governor of my state to also Win governorships in the 49 other states.

That is not a valid reason to say AJ is a better fighter than Floyd. Weight classes aren't aren't only in boxing. The MMA has weight classes. Weight lifting has weight classes. It's illegal in some counties but dogs and chickens are fought all over the world and they are always fought by weight. Nobody fights a 1 pound chicken against a 5 pound chicken. Nobody expects a 150 pound power lifter to lift as much weight as a 250 pound power lifter. Nobody expects Mayweather to beat AJ. Being excellent in your weight class is what gains a boxer, a weight lifter or an MMA fighter admiration, praise and respect no matter how big or small they may be.
        Exactly this.

Nope. They would never be able to touch Floyd. Regardless, this is not a street fighting forum, this is a Boxing forum. If a baseball pitcher could stand 2 feet from the batter, they would have a no-hitter every game, but those aren't the rules of the game.

Thank u. This whole thread makes no sense, LOL. We have weight classes for a reason, and I enjoy the different attributes of each class. I like the 2nd round KO's of the HW's, & I like the speed and agility of 105 #'ers, and everything in between. I just like Boxing in general.

Much like a 1-0 pitcher's dual in baseball can be just as exiting as a 12-11 sluggfest full of home runs.
