Haha, you crack me up. I done the same thing in 2008 with the UK army. Signed up because I had no other options. Found out early on I couldn't join the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) because of my non-existant academic grades. I lost about 80% of my motivation at this point but still joined the RLC (Royal Logistic Corps). Lasted halfway through basic training before just refusing to soldier. I was surprised how lightly I got let off. I was home in maybe 10 days. The funny thing was, about a year later I got a UK Armed Forces veterans badge in the post.

Nothing bad.

They recently found out John Bradley wasn't in it and another Marine unknown until now was actually in it.
