  • State proposes lowering ‘F’ grade to just 39 percent

Because we don’t have enough dumbasses running around today....

RALEIGH, N.C. - School employees in one state might be feeling happier these days after learning the bar for failing could be lowered, and by a lot.

The North Carolina legislature is considering a change in the grading system for the state's public schools.

The bill in question would be based on a 15-point scale, rather than a 10-point scale for grades.

That would mean only scores lower than 39 percent would qualify for an F grade for schools, a far cry from the current 60 percent failure mark in the state and most others.

Student grades would be unaffected by the changing scale system, but would allow underperforming schools to continue operating.

    This doesnt effect the students.

It effects the school's 'grade' in terms of performance.

This is a scam to keep failing schools open.

Is there any angle being sold with this beyond mfers getting 70/100 now earning a B & the general boosting of better grades/reduction in bad grades?

Like is there some sorta reason we shoulda been giving 15 points scales instead of 10 since the get go?

Probably that it gives the illusion that schools have a higher passing percentage by moving the goal line. So kids get pushed through the system with what would have been failing grades and the schools get to claim a higher passing/graduation percentage.

They shouldn't be failing anyone. Everyone gets an A.

Yeah in high school 65 was a D or D+ and in college I remember 60 being D and the minimum to pass a course.
