  • Comments Thread For: Trainer: Jacobs Fighting on Canelo-Golovkin is 'Strong Possibility'

So what's next for middleweight contender, Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs), who took Gennady Golovkin the distance on March 18th at the Madison Square Garden in New York? There is talk of him getting a slot on the undercard of the Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin undercard at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 16th.

... Jacobs' long-time trainer, Andre Rozier (...): "It's a possibility, we just need a dance partner but it's a strong possibility that he'll be on the card."

... It's not Lemieux, it's not BJS... but he's trying to get Canelo-GGG winner...

... So: Uncle Al would do business with ODLH (in spite of their court feud...)

So if this does happen, it's not because they're doing it from the kindness of their hearts. So they'll probably, GBP, get some options on him which is probably good for Jacobs right now since he had 2 fights since the start of 2016.

I could see it being Tureano Johnson. Yea yea, IBF eliminator but GBP put up 50k and Lou didn't do much better. He'll pull out and better money/opportunity here. Also he's w/GBP and K2 could always offer him a fight later. I think we see TJ vs Jacobs because Lemieux ain't and GBP don't really have anybody else

amir khan a nother pbc fighter fought against canelo! Haymon does business with everyone..... Oscar and top rank are the one who block their fighters from ever going on pbc... Even luis ortiz confirmed that golden boy blocked him from fighting on a pbc card in court documents...... So what are you talking about? Molina and diaz just fought on hbo also and so did chavez jr who is another haymon guy....

If not Lemiex and BJS, then who?
Tureano Johnson is going to fight Derevyanchenko.
Eubank jr is at 168 and he is going to fight Arthur Abraham.
Charlo is going to fight Heiland.

              Again Sergio Mora?

Oscar is feeling the heat from the announcement of Floyd/Connor and is now trying to make his card even more appealing.

Those who were planning on buying Canelo/GGG are still going to. That is the "real fight". Floyd/Connor isn't going to sway those fans. What will hurt Canelo/GGG are the casuals who may now rather dish out for Floyd/Connor.

All in all, competition is good as if forces promoters to step up and stop putting on shoddy undercards.

That would be great. He definitely deserves a shot at Golovkin again or Canelo if he wins
