So I guess it's 300k vs 150k in sales then we base it on right?

Ok, so who made the ppv cotto or canelo? Because here most of people run their mouth with the 900k as if they were the canelo numbers, and we all know who was the A side there....see we all can play that game...
Its plain stupid...you need two for a fight..maybe a ppv with bizier would do 500k
Yeah right...
Letit go bro..its easier...big succes in uk is a bargain chip on the negotiation table...wether you like it or notLast edited by xhiddenx87; 09-23-2016, 07:44 AM.

One thing I don't get, is the argument that Golovkin wasn't the 'a-side' in the Brook fight. Its a very simple way of thinking, looking at popularity in this way.
The flaw in this thinking is this - how many PPV's did Brook sell in the UK before? None. People bought the mega-fight matchup.
The same applies for Canelo/Golovkin. It's quite clear to see Canelo is the bigger name. However neither fighter will be making as much money without the other. You cannot apply the simpleton 'a-side/b-side' argument to a blockbuster matchup, as they are more than the sum of its parts. The fight is the a-side, and both would be selling it.
60/40 is fair. 65/35 is fair if K2 want to secure the fight. What people seem to conveniently forget is, that Canelo's name is linked to Golovkin's. He will face criticism as long as he doesn't fight him, and this low PPV figure will only add pressure. Golovkin doesn't have the same pressure on him, as whilst Canelo is an opportunity, he can continue to destroy 160 waiting.

Gennady wasn't the A-side but The numbers aren't
Brook / GGG. 500k x 23 (USD) = 11.5 million
Canelo/Smith. 275 x 65 (USD) = 17.8
Ive tried looking but couldn't find the gates but I doubt that Canelo beats Pac/Marg gate of 6.9 million let's just say it does 6 million. Brook/Gennady probably did in the range of 3.5 million USD( rough estimate). But I bet Matchroom Made off like bandits with the resale tickets considering the $40 ticket were reselling for 400 and the $ 500 were going for $ 2500.
I bet when it's all said and done and all the revenues counted Brook / GGG did in the range of 2/3 dollar wise of what Canelo/Smith did.

I mean Canelo vs May did 50% better numbers than Cotto vs May. That was all the proof needed to show Canelo was the bigger draw

Who's the bigger draw??
Who's the A side???
Who has the most fans??
Who puts butts in the seats??
Here's what we get when we worry, support and defend this line of thinking. We get GGG fighting whoever's available and we also get canelo/Smith on ppv
Great job guys, great job.
