I'm not going to mock you for lacking looks and/or charm because I feel fortunate to have gifts in that area, but you need to understand that many guys don't have to spend money on women to get sex.

I've never taken women out to expensive dinners, bought them gifts, or anything along those lines unless they were someone I was already involved with. For dating/getting laid, I've always been proud of the fact that I don't have to use money/things to attract women. In fact, many of them have taken ME out, bought me gifts, drinks, etc. Even when traveling, like the OP, I found it pretty easy to meet women. You just have to have some savvy and confidence.

Sex may never be free to you and many other guys, but you need to accept that it's not that way for every guy. There was a time when I felt like you but that was before I worked on my image, personality, etc. Be the best you that you can be and you won't have to lower yourself to paying whores.
