The call they responded to wasnt about a barricated suspect situation.

Furthermore, we can see in the video that this is clearly not a barricated suspect situation. The cops can clearly see as much as there are suspects freely leaving the room.

Lots of contributing factors like his being drunk out his mind (which clearly affected how he responded to instructions) but with BETTER police work I do believe that yes he would have lived. Should have lived.
