  • Who will be remembered as the greater fighter: Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather?

I made poll a similar poll a couple of years ago...

But since then, Floyd has returned to boxing and had a couple of decision wins, while Pacquiao has added 4 more wins over bigger fighters: Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito.

Who will be remembered as the greater fighter?
    635
    Floyd Mayweather Jr
    25.83%
    164
    Manny Pacquiao
    74.17%
    471

    The poll is expired.

if they both stopped boxing today, pacquiao.

the guys who take the bigger risks those are the guys whose legacies continue to rise over time.

Realistically, it will be Pacquiao unless Mayweather gets two SERIOUSLY big wins, one of them over Pacquiao.

Risk and reward. Mayweather only has one, for the most part. Pacquiao has both. Thus, the better chance at a better legacy.

Floyd's legacy are in a fantasy land. he doesnt need to fight. Pac is one dimentional easy fight. Floyd will school him for 12 round. so was Cotto, Margarito before he retired for the first time. Floyd will be remember as the best fighter who WOULDA, COULDA beat Pac and ATG's easy without actuall fighting them.

          Pacquiao has

          1) gone through more weight divisions

          2) defeated a lot of much bigger opponents, Floyd has not

          3) defeated more top level opponents

          4) generally won his fights more impressively (compare Hatton & De La Hoya fights of each)

Look at it this way. The poll answers the question. If more people say Pacquiao, then that's the actual FACT. As far as the board is concerned, anyway.

If people are saying they will remember a man more fondly legacy-wise on the poll, that's basically a concensus.

As things stand, it's undeniably Manny Pacquiao. However I don't think the gap is so big that Floyd couldn't overtake him by beating him.

Manny and it's not even close as shown by the awards/recognition/accolades given to Pacquiao.. Floyd would have to take some serious fights, but he only fights 1 time a year.
