It's urban areas are probably the worst (Detroit, Flint, etc.), but the state in and of itself is really a beautiful state. Outside of the cities anyway. It has more lake coastline than any other state in the country. There's so many lakes that there is no point in the entire state in which is a person is never more than 6 miles away from a natural body of water (no bull****).
It's really one of the more beautiful states in the country, easily top ten as far as natural beauty goes. Too bad though the cities evolved in to such **** holes.
you also have to factor in the cold weather. im sure every state has its share of nice places (ie gated communities).
