  • Povetkin and Ortiz would be great fights. But, I really think Usyk should be fighting taller guys. To get him prepared for the champs.

EXACTLY.... Usyk needs a tune up like povetkin, guys like brazeale an charles martin. He should be talking about those guys not Ortiz cause he hasn't felt that type of punching power yet.

It's game over if he catches you though!!.... or maybe not.

Ortiz would knock everyone of those opponents Usyk challenged in the WBSS out.

Cruiserweights are seriously underestimated by most casual boxing fans. Two of Usyk's WBSS opponents, Huck and Breidis, have fought at HW.

Briedis knocked Manuel Char out cold:

Huck went toe to toe with a prime Povetkin for 12 rounds and gave him real problems:

Compare that to the way Usyk handled Huck:

That knockout of Charr was hilarious

No doubt about it; I agree. The irony in all of these British fans clamoring for a Usyk/Ortiz fight is that they piss their pants at the mere mentioning of Joshua challenging Ortiz for the title or Whyte challenging Ortiz for the WBC title eliminator. They come up with every excuse in the book. However, they are willing to sacrifice the career of a naturally smaller man moving up in weight to challenge the bogeyman of the division. In other words, they rate Usyk higher than both Joshua and Whyte combined and he is technically still a Cruiserweight.

It's always fun seeing an ego maniac like Char getting KTFO!

Briedis is no joke though. I would pick him to beat many of the top HWs, including old King Luis.

Nobody is coming up with excuses for AJ and Whyte not fighting Ortiz because none are needed.

Ortiz would have had his mandatory shot at AJ by now if he hadn't decided to go after Wilder instead.

Whyte actually asked Hearn to match him with Ortiz when Luis was signed with Matchroom, but Hearn turned him down. And he was ready and willing to fight him in a real final eliminator, with the winner getting his shot at the title, but that wasn't what the WBC wanted.
