I'm on my phone right now and it's **** for doing searches, but I'm near as dammit 100% sure that the language attached to the franchise title meant that he was considered a WBC champion representing them in whichever division he fought in.

...because he was the WBC MIDDLEWEIGHT champion. The designation is to not have mandatories while youre jumping around in weight. Aka he doesnt have to worry about mandatories at 160. Not that he doesnt have to ever in diff divisions

Yldrim was a mandatory to the full wbc before canelo ever held the 168 title, which is what theyre fighting over.
