It would take only a few seconds to look up the answer to the first 3 questions... which of course would be no fun!

Now I have a pretty good idea of how many fights we (BoxRec) know of from different eras - but to guess the EXACT year, would really take some luck! So I won't even attempt that - but instead try to narrow it down to certain time periods.

    1. Boxing really boomed between the two wars... so the year with the most fights can probably be found in the 20's or 30's (I would guess).

    2. Boxing took a big dip during the 50's and hit a post-war low in the 60's and 70's (where there were a few years with just under 10.000 recorded fights) - after which the number of fights has more than doubled. So the year with the fewest fights should be somewhere during those two decades.

    3. Last year BoxRec recorded more fights than at any other time during (at least!) the last 60 years. The last year with more fights than 2016, I would guess can be found just before the outbreak of WW2 - in the late 30's.

    4. Maybe early 30's?

    5. Again, I would guess early 30's.

    6. Really have no clue.

    7. Is this a trick question? Could it be that last year's 632 cards was the highest ever in Mexico?

    8. No idea.

    9. Boxing is really booming in Japan right now - so I wouldn't be surprised, if they have seen their busiest year fairly recently (in the last 5 years, maybe?).

    10. I don't think, there are as many fights in Thailand as there used to be. Their busiest year could be somewhere in the 70's (shot in the dark, really).

I assume both amateur and professional bout totals are included.

All wrong although one of your guesses is within two years of the correct answer.

1,2,4 and 5 are in the right sort of area.
