Left and right are absolutely entwined within capitalism and socialism. The right strives for total free markets in its extreme while the left in its extreme strives for the dissolution of free markets. The far right strives for the elimination of those programs designed to lift those at the bottom (which a capitalistic economy promotes...a class system) while the far left strives for the elimination of a class system that can only promote economic inequality (And so on). The combination of both and a system that allows both systems to exist together always in flux provides for a very strong economic and political system. The interplay of both systems as the world about us changes allows us to best meet the needs of our citizens.

I asked this of several people and no one really had an answer. After a quick google search I believe I'd rather have Trump finish out his term then see Pence in office. Pence doesn't have any love for the poor.
