  • Prime Ali vs. Ken Norton

We all know post-exile Ali had some trouble w/ Kenny, now how would the pre-exile version of Ali (the Cleveland Williams version) do against Ken Norton?

Prime Ali wins but still struggles: Norton's style of fighting was pure poison to slick boxers. Even if they won they'd never look good. Conversly that same style made Norton fatally vulnerable to straight ahead punchers.....go figure.

But do you think he would've won clearly w/o any disputes unlike the other times he defeated Norton?

I don't think it would be easy to score but Ali by maybe two or three points.

ken norton will always be trouble for ali because he knows how to neutralize a jab somethin these new school cats dont know how to do

as for who'd win, probabley still Ali, but with tough to score rounds

Ali would win a close but definite UD over 15 rounds. Norton can neutralize a jab very well but Prime Ali's footspeed would win him enough rounds to beat Norton. This would be a awesome match to watch .

I think ali would win a little easier than he did. Ali's legs would be fresher so he could stay dancing longer and throwing combinations, and when he done that in the previous fights, he was racking up the points.Still be a tough fight though.

Norton's style would have always given a guy like Ali trouble, just like he gave Holmes trouble, he knew how to block their jabs and jab with them to offset their rhythms, Norton was very good at that. I think Ali would have won a decision but it would have been tough.
