I hope that taught you a little lesson Jim. You've been in denial too long about your country being rich, why do you think all those people voted Trump? They're being paid nothing, there's no jobs.

Maybe you should try going on holiday abroad and see how long you last. Americans are always whining about how their currency isn't worth jack **** over here.
Its you who is having trouble understanding currencies, expenses, and taxes. The pound is worth more than the dollar, but not anywhere significantly more to justify any of your arguments

If you're being paid an average of £25,000 that is about equivalent to $31,000 US. The average US household income isn't $31,000 it's $52,000 (£42,000).

Average Brit who makes £25k taxed at 20% = £20k vs American making £42k taxed at 32% = £28k. At face value without our write offs we are £8k wealthier.

You brag about Britains cost of living and then turn around and say Americans who on average make significantly more than Brits by all statistics cannot afford to stay in Britain. You just admitted your country has a high cost of living. You say your pound goes a long way in the US and you can easily afford to visit here, which mean ironically you just admitted US has a lower cost of living.

I'd much rather take a trip to Florida, California, or NYC, than Britain. What do you guys have to offer aside from over priced everything. All of your goods cost more and you brag about it like it's a good thing. I'd rather enjoy the sunny beach rays of Florida vs the rainy, cold, beaches of the U.K. The only Americans vacationing in Britain are hipster tools from Oregon or Washington state. If we want to travel to an overpriced country with bad weather we are better off going to Canada.

You're using the latest exchange rates where the pound is at historical lows because of the Brexit, it will be back up soon enough.

£1 is usually $1.70 - 1.80. Do that calculation and you'll see how much people in this country have been really making.

Get a passport, leave your country, and visit some European or Asian islands which aren't filled with thousands of overweight cargo short wearing Americans
