stevenson signed to showtime for more money to fight bhop who was unified champion and #2 ranked lightheavy weight..
bhop refused to sign and went to hbo and sued haymon..
adonis was blamed for bhop doing htat

kovalev had nothing to do with thid decision..

both kovalev and stevenson were on HBO.... they were talking about a unification fight soon.....

then all of a sudden stevenson signs to showtime and tries to fight bhop

we all know that beibut shuminov isnt that good.... and thats who bhop beat to get his wba belt he already had the ibf belt for about 2 fights or so....

both kova and adonis had their respective belts since 2013 and a unification fight shoulda happened between them while bhop and shuminov were unifying the wba and ibf titles

adonis contract with hbo was up if hbo did not extend it..

hbo and adonis negotiated until the last day and hbo said they would not pay him...showtime gave him the exact deal that hbo turned down only a few days later...

kovalev was a nonfactor in all of this...it was 3 fight deal that would guarantee him millions and showtime accepted it..hbo had a chance to outbid them and they refused..
