  • Comments Thread For: Jaime Munguia vs. Liam Smith Talks Continue To Play Out

Contrary to speculation no date has been agreed for WBO super welterweight champion Jaime Munguia to defend his title against former holder Liam Smith in July. Boxing Scene spoke to Smith's promoter Frank Warren today (May 21) to address the rumours that his man would travel to America to face the new champion on July 21 or 28.

I think beefy likes the fight, young green kid with a belt... he isnt going to like the outcome though, which is him face down on the canvas with all 20 smiths ringside looking on in horror.

Great fight and good step up for a "YOUNG" Munguia. While other 21yr olds fight bums.

For one more fight. Then it's back to Zanfer for Munguia.

Liam is the more technical and better fighter. I'm taking Liam - losing to Canelo on PEDs is no big deal... GGG went 12 with him and barely won with the Nelo on PEDs.

Glad someone finally said this. Munguia just as it was with Miguel Berchelt only owed Golden Boy Promotions one fight.

So Golden Boy better make that fight worth it for them because afterwards he's all Zanfer's.

Zanfer's Promotions has Berchelt, Munguia, and Nery. They should figure out who they will attach there company with state side to further develop there promotion.
