AIBA bans headgear

I don't think headgear really protects from concussions in the first place it just more protects from cuts and headbutts. If you get hit with headgear your head is still getting rocked back regardless I have a feeling the amount of cushion to the blow is minimal. I've never fought or sparred full force without headgear though so I'm kinda just assuming and going off what I have heard from people.

I used to box unlicensed before I started amatuer and head guards don't stop ko's that much , but it's usefull for cuts ect.. After the unlicensed fights I'd have bruised eyes, nose my head would hurt jaw would hurt ect.. U don't realise how much the head protects u unless you've boxed without one . Now I box am I feel and look fine after bouts just occasional nose damage
