Some are responsible enough to pay off their card each month or after a purchase.
Rewards are nice. I use my Discover card like a debt card. It's easy to pay it off with online banking.
But I'm a cheap ass. I will shop for car insurance every six months. Lol

I have a primary debit card/Mastercard from my credit union I use for most purchases. I have a back up credit card (USAA Visa) that I use if I travel; for rental cars, flights, hotels, etc.

for the love of god. how much did you spend on that card to get that back. to get 800 out of 1% would take about an $80k expenditure.

that's good for you. You got tremendous will. Judging by the size of these back buildings your are by far the exception and not the rule.

BTW there are studies that show you spend significantly more using plastic than paper. These banks have armies of PHDs working to figure out the human psyche. there is always a gimmick to get you to use credit cards. Points, cash back, fights etcs. Its call gamesmanship. Make people think they are playing a game and winning. Meanwhile they are getting rich. remember even if your paying off the interest the bank is still making money. They charge you or the merchant, usually the merchant and swipe fee and a % of the purchase price. Merchant pays htat means price goes up. Customer pays in higher prices and interest and by the inherent higher spending per transaction with using plastic (which btw increase the transactions fees the banks get).

Next time your in LA or San Francisco take a look at chase building and wells fargo building. enormous and $$$$. Chase buildings take up blocks in 90210...

But great that it works for you.
im a spender so it doesn't work for me.

I wasnt always that way and I agree most I know are in major debt. I came from nothing so when I had something it didnt last very long. It took a while to think about the future. But Im older and wiser now. Heck I use to buy a new boat and truck every couple years. We've owed 26 cars and trucks, many motorcycles and boats. Im over all that chit these days. My daughter changed me in that way.

You should have owned a performance/ body shop. I mod everything, my bass boat has rims lol. But when you're a dealer its free or at cost. My SEMA jeep was free. I had three pallets of parts show up for it at one time during the build, all free.

I still miss that one, but when someone makes you a offer you cant refuse you take it!
