  • Why did people act like Linares was an elite fighter after the Loma fight???

    He's never been elite.

Loma fans In particular acted like he won a damn legacy fight against linares. Then had the nerve to say he would beat the top guys at 140 as well.

Yeah, that win isn't anything special and it was being hyped up. If anything, it really shows that Lomachenko is hyped up as well. True, Jorge is a skilled guy and was a on a nice little run (nothing special though) but it was only a matter of time until somebody destroyed him again. Funny he went to war with Lomachenko and even dropped him then completely got blown out by Cano LOL.

Why do you care so much about what fans think of such trivial things? Why are you acting like Jacobs is all of a sudden an elite fighter when you've previously dismissed him as a bum?

You're worse than the fans you're obsessed with.

It was a good win. Nothing more nothing less. I don't understand why so called "fans" like OP have to heavily scrutinize anything and everything because he doesn't like another fighters fans yet he'll hype up others who fights dudes he's fanboying.

Emile Griffith was KO'd in one by Hurricane Carter between wins over legends like Luis Rodriguez and Dick Tiger and far more in his prime than when he gave prime Carlos Monzon a tough fight.

Jesus, why are you taking this so personal? Two posts on here already defending Lomachenko and crying like a legit fanboy. We're all a bunch of boxing nerds on a boxing forum, of course we scrutinize and analyze everything with the sport. The OP raises a fair point, Lomachenko went to war and got dropped by a guy Cano wrecked in 1. lol It's not a good win.

Linares was an elite lightweight at the time...he hadn't lost since 2012, Was a champion (former unified) at lightweight and a 3 weight world champion. The thing is that he just doesn't bounce back from losses well like we saw earlier in his career and he hit his ceiling. This fight says nothing about the Loma fight.
