  • What Canelo vs GG Golovkin tells us about boxing today?

    1. That boxing is dead and that GGG got robbed twice.

    2. It's a dam shame how oscar buys win after win..

    3. Whenever a fight looks like it cld be as close as a drawn fight the decision shld always go to the champ but unfortunately with Canelo in Vegas and backed by Oscar the only way that you can guarantee a win is by KO.

    4. GGG got robbed twice! Makes you want to forget about watching boxing. So many bad decisions by judges! Worst I can remember was Witherspoon vs Holmes (It was almost a total shutout). Williams vs Lara was awful (Lara has had numerous robberies). Povetkin vs Huck is another one. This is why Boxing is no longer the number one TV sport as it was in the 50s and 60s. Used to be that you had to "Beat" the champion to take his belt !!!!!!!!!

    1. Boxing is far from dead both fights generated over 1m + PPV & 100m dollars and Network TV ( Fox ) Largest Sport content porovider ( ESPN) and a new Streaming service ( DAZN) have all committed multi millions for years into Boxing. Gennady did get robbed though

    2. Canelo getting thendecision has nothing to do with Oscar or him buying the judges . Giving decisions to the Aside money fighter when they don’t deserve it , has been going on for decades the sport goes where the $ is and unfortunately that’s the way it is is

3 In theory I agree that you should have to beat the champ but let’s just start with to get the win you need to actually win 7 rounds

4 agree boxing has been relegated to a niche sport partly because the sporting options and access have increased in the last 30 - 50 years and also because most view boxing as a corrupt sport ( rightfully so) that often isn’t judged on a level playing field with the rightful winner ( mostly happens in big fights )often doesn’t get decision because the judges far too often favour the a-side fighter and hurts the sports credibility

golovkin was beaten in the fight canelo wanted....then canelo realized golovkin wasn't so tough and beat him the fight golovkin wanted too

stop crying you *****es....every time your guy loses its not some conspiracy or robbery...your boy got beat

its a shame that golovkins fans spent years calling ward, Floyd, canelo and cotto "chicken" and "diva"....otherwise golovkin fans might not be feasting on their feces....and he wouldn't have any haters

but years of running your mouths about how great he was...how hed crush anyone and everyone...and how all these other great fighters are pansies...

enjoy trying to rewrite history for the sake of your internet pride

I thought GGG won by a couple of points but I thought it was a close hard fought and hard to score battle and not a robbery. You statement that if the fight is close or looks like a draw the win must go to the champion is a BS myth. Fights should be scored exactly as the judge sees them with no advantage given the champion. If the champion really wins a round then he gets that round. If the challenger wins a round he gets that round no matter how close it was. The only edge a champion gets is he keeps his title on a draw. Fights should be scored exactly by what happened in the ring with no advantage for the champion. When the bell rings for round one the title is vacant and they are fighting to see who really is the champion.

Boxing is fine, you always have house fighters and always will, cant see that changing

its great if u support a house fighter but s hit if u want the other guy to win

now on to another house fighter............. joshua ;-)
