This vote was really meaningless in terms of the power of it. It was NOT a Chapter VII resolution.,,it was a Chapter VI resolution. None the less...that Obama was really in collusion with it and was behind the abstained vote decision ( the 1st President not to back Israel in 4 decades)...just goes to show you his true Muslim colours...as if there was ever any doubt. With only 4 weeks left to go he sticks up his middle finger to Israel while bowing to the Saudis King. Trump stepped in and got Egypt to drop the resolution altogether (who were the one's who started it) Thursday...but in a last minute move it was raised by Malaysia, Senegal, (Muslim countries), New Zealand,and Venezuela.

Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter deals with peaceful settlement of disputes. It requires countries with disputes that could lead to war to first of all try to seek solutions through peaceful methods such as "negotiation, enquiry, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, judicial settlement, resort to regional agencies or arrangements, or other peaceful means of their own choice." If these methods of alternative dispute resolution fail, then they must refer it to the UN Security Council. Under Article 35, any country is allowed to bring a dispute to the attention of the UN Security Council or the General Assembly. This chapter authorizes the Security Council to issue recommendations but does not give it power to make binding resolutions; those provisions are contained Chapter VII.

It really doesn't matter...Israel will ignore it and there is nothing the UN can do about it. They are useless anyways and it will be interesting to see what Trump has in store for them in the New Year.

But yeah...what a legacy Obama leaves office with.
