Some are so quick they take half a atep back and slip a counter in there, some just hold. There are a lot of things you can do in that situation if you're sharp and quick enough.

It Depends what he does right after the jab . If he he is looking for a 1-2 you get your head off the center and fire your left or step right with a check hook over the jab.
