Yeah, it would be a *******!

Loma's a better mover than anyone Sanchez ever fought, and he's shown the firepower to fell men biggerthan Sanchez. But moving forward against a man of Sanchez's calibre should be disastrous.

Smaller gloves and more rounds against a guy the WILL NOT be denied... Loma's still a strong favorite, but dammit if he doesn't earn his money that night!

Sanchez' issue was never with guys that brought the fight to him but when he was forced to create openings or force the action he didn't look nearly as good. He fell behind vs. Cowdell, Castillo and Ford with the last two being very close fights he barely pulled out. He may run out of rounds against Lomachenko because of his angles, footwork, movement but it would be close.

I love Sanchez. He's on my Mount Rushmore of personal favorites but I can always tell the folks who haven't watched all his fights when they say things like "greatest featherweight ever", "unbeatable", and that he destroys everyone. These folks have only watched the Gomez, Lopez and Nelson fights and certainly not the others nor researched the Nelson fight and how late a sub he was and how green he was. Sanchez would have had his hands full with Pedroza who'd have been a style nightmare and a Nelson re-match would have been hell.

That's not to take anything anyway from him because he was a special fighter and a winner.

- -Nelson was far from green, but rather birthed in the fertile hotbed of traditional Afican boxing that likely was adopted from the Roman culture in NAfrica and spread south.

That's why he fought so aggressive. Never could figure out his Professor moniker when his style was born of blunt force brute creation.

I agree about Pedroza, and I think the odds would have been VERY much against him in a bout w/ Arguello - I don;t even know if he would have beaten the Fw edition, let alone the monster he would have met at Jr Lw. I just don't know how Nelson would have faired any better? You really think Nelson can repeat what he did the first time? I think he caught Sal asleep at the wheel.

- -Perfessor was the one left asleep at the Wheel.

That was a truly epic fight though with Sal having to not only outbox, but also being forced to slug with a raging monster. Even Fat Lar who was still slim then raved about it, and he almost never credits other fighters for anything.

There are ancient Egyptian tomb paintings that depict boxers. Why would Africans have to adopt Roman culture when they could just adapt what already existed on their continent?

--- Any evidence of Egyptian culture spreading as far SW as Ghana thousands of years ago?

Sudan at the source of the Nile seems to have been their limit. At the time of Nelson, just like boxing in last two centuries alone we have seen stupendous changes much less from thousands of years ago in every facet of life.

At the time of Nelson haven't we seen stupendous changes from the days of ancient Rome?

--- The Roman influence in NAfrica would have been much stronger by a couple of thousand years fresher.

Just like the US influence on modern western culture and the world dominates today. China, India, and such have adapted capitalism to spectacular success at the expense of the environment and depletion of natural resources.

There are some beatdown great minds and leaders growing up in this "technical" and "capitalistic "revolution who will be adapting WMDs to their own purpose with thousands of small victories as we saw in Iraq on a smaller scale to add to that environmental damage, all rooted in ancient tribal mentalities that even highly educated moderns fail to understand.

Do you have any evidence, though?

Or are you just making assumptions?
