Theres a big difference with Canelo being that he stepped up competition a long time ago (6/7 years ago) and he's only 28, so we know he's good.

Wilder is still relatively untested fighting a guy that had to sign a waiver as he was medically unfit to fight and getting a draw that the majority of professional boxers deemed a gift against a guy with 2 sparring sessions after a 3 year combeback losing the equivalent weight of a whole WW fighter as is best tests so far.

If Wilder beats Fury and AJ he then finally has a resume and is #1 but let's face it hell be lucky to make it past Fury and even if he does bookies odds will be in favour of AJ knocking him the feck out.
You miss the point, but not surprising. Canelo fought his first 5 years in Mexico, up until about 2010. First time in the US he got rocked bad by Cotto's brother. For the next two years he fought welterweights and Junior welterweights, and guys past their prime.

In the last 10 fights, since 2013, yes, he has moved beyond his horribly weak resume to what it is now, which is excellent. Canelo had 42 fights prior to 2013 against nobodies and past their prime welters and at least one junior welter. So yeah, compare that to where Wilder is now with the same number of fights.

A lot of folks on here are European and really have no concept of Dixie, how big America actually is, or how many cultures exist and clash within our union.

They reckon Wilder's at home anywhere in the United States actually. Everyone from the US is at home anywhere in the US. The US is just one big backyard.

Damn.

Looks like Robbie Barrett talked himself into a potential disaster.

it's safer for me to fight a guy knowing he can't KO me. it's even a far higher advantage in attacking than any skill you can think of.

Why not try to go for the 4 belts and an undisputed to back your mantra of the one name, one face shyyte.

It just proves it's all talk no action. 60/40 with 4 belts inline isbthe best a fighter with one belt can wish for.
Maybe he is anxious to make up for his fans for the Fury loss.

You missed the point Wilder is supposed to be way past that point in his career due to his age and champ status who goes 4 year as Champ and only starts fighting past prime Ortiz and some Champ returning from a long lay off/coming of coke and KFC binge

Explains why he got booed at the Thurman fight.

To be fair, since last year, both camps have tried to negotiate since middle of last year. They failed whether it was money, date, venue it didn't come together. Both sides are reasonable enough with their explanation. It happens. Now we can't judge who's doing what until they all have their next fight. The two winners should come together. We can only look forward and see what the happens in the next round of negations
