While I partially agree, it begs the question, why didn't anyone else step up to the plate and cherry pick him if he was that easy? Odd that...

Can you explain what made him one of the best HW around?

I think that case is STILL being adjudicated with the issue far from decided either way:

It's not AJ or Hearn, because they are too scare to even say his name.

Yes Ortiz was 3rd or 4th but Fury was ranked 7 th. He had a stellar year in terms of an increase in the quality of his opponents but Ortiz he nearly lost and Fury he should have lost. He was exposed in both fights so I would love to give credit but I canít. Was not impressed.

AJ looked like dog s#hit against Parker and I wasnít overly impressed with his performance against Povetkin but I liked the jabs to the stomach and the finish
I love how folks keep saying Wilder was exposed when anyone with a whit of sense knows he will never be Ali or Holmes in the rings.

As I have said many times before, if you want to get an idea of who Wilder is, you have to think Marciano, Shavers, and Tua- not Bowe or Lennox.

Wilder, like Rocky, is a guy that will never be mistaken for a technical genius, yet is savvy enough to have delivered his power to ALL of his opponents. That in and of itself takes some kind of craft, if you think on it.

The bottom line is, you may not like what Wilder said- I personally think that you can't be overly critical of AJ's competition in 2018 either (EXCEPT perhaps Hearn should have tried harder to make one of the opponents Deontay THIS year). Parker and Povetkin are respectable opponents...but, they were not as much risk as Ortiz and Fury.

Wilder has a point.

Every single boxing reporter and anyone with boxing experience rates Ortiz and knows he's easily top 4. Stop trying to protect your precious AJ from the boogy man Ortiz.

I believe Wilder and Fury are the best two Heavyweights and have to give credit to both of them not only for the great fight they gave us but for stepping up and fighting each other. Joshua has been constantly ducking Wilder but now that Wilder and Fury fought to a draw suddenly Joshua wants to start talking saying that he wants his next fight to be Wilder. You should of stepped up and signed the contract to fight him in the last fight but you didn't. Instead Fury stepped up and showed the heart of a true Champion. He apologized to Wilder for you not signing the contract, and said to send him the contract. Then we witnessed how quick a fight can be made when two people really want to fight, then we witnessed one of the greatest Heavyweight fights in years. Wilder and Fury need to do the honorable thing and fight the rematch then the winner should fight Joshua to beat him and unify the titles. After they beat Joshua Wilder and Fury should rematch again because they are the two best Heavyweights, and they're willing to fight the best fighters without picking their opponents and taking the easiest road. You should of took the $50 million to fight Wilder but you knew you'd get knocked out, or you could of made a big payday by filling up a stadium in England and getting outboxed by Fury instead you took easy road with Povetkin. So when you wouldn't fight either of the best two Heavyweights they fought each other now Joshua needs to sit back and be quiet until they finish their business, or fight Ortiz and show fans he's willing to fight the best like Wilder and Fury do. Joshua would lose to either of them and he'd probably also lose to Ortiz so he'll take another easy road.

Yeah, just like Wilder initially won in 2017.

I think when all is said and done, Wilder will get his purse of 4.3M, Povetkin will get what's left of the 7.15M that is in escrow and both will claim they won.

But the only ones really getting paid will be the lawyers.

Yer welcome ya summumabinch! For a knucklehead semi-fanboy, you're OK in my book, Noel.
