First of, Hearn at no stage says he even knows what the PPV numbers are so yeah...article flop, headline bs, as usual from the tabloids and Hearn.

Second, the number mentioned is £1.5 million...that's currency, not buy rate. Did you even bother reading the article?

On top of al that, as far as I know, Sky have never released PPV figures and until it comes from them, there is no reason to ever believe what Hearn has to say.

Good news, and I definitely like Hearn's business model. Pricing PPVs at 20 pounds, even a huge fight like Wlad-AJ is very smart. Nobody wants to pay $60/70 for a US PPV anymore, thus the low numbers in the States. For 20 bux, it's a whole different ball game.

US PPVs need to follow along with this. It's important to note that US has almost 6x the population of UK. By making the PPV lower priced, it becomes much more accessible to casual fans and should see a big surge in # of PPV purchased.

Im simplistic terms, UK averages a purchase rate of 500K for good PPVs, out of a population of 65M people, for a buy rate of 0.77%. If US produces a similar buy rate, it would sell 2.4M PPVs (324m*0.0077).

I think the '£1.5 million' was an error and they meant to just put 1.5 million as other media sources have had the figure without the pound sign. Otherwise that's 75,000 ppv buys which just isn't realistic at all.

Maybe they'll release them if they're record breaking. Eddie will probably know what the rough figure is.
