Me too. I'll probably check out Death Wish also. Looks like the plot is more like Death Wish 2 though, where the lead character goes after the particular people responsible for killing his wife and daughter, but maybe it will be like the original, where the guy just goes on a killing spree.

And I never liked Stax. He didn't ditch the truck like he was supposed to after the heist, the cops found his prints on the steering wheel, so Tommy Desimone had to whack him.

Exactly. It would be like trying to remake Dirty Harry and Harry Callahan is a transgender, black muslim who fights racist, transphobic and misogynist criminals on the street who all happen to be white males so as not to offend anyone (except for white males obviously, **** those guys)

A couple years back there was actually talk of remaking Dirty Harry, but with a female lead. Fortunately they scrapped that idea.

Stax was worthless for sure- a tremendous liability.

Yeah, that's why I loved the first one. It wasn't revenge per se as much as it was dealing with a problem. In reality, it's highly unlikely he would ever find the goons that killed his wife and raped his daughter, but killing muggers was very plausible and realistic as far as New York City was back then, or so I've heard.

I don't think it will top the original, but I like Bruce Willis and this looks like a solid remake. Definitely gonna check it out.
