Ward is half white / half black

Fury is top dog at HW, just like Mayweather was still king of his divisions while on his temporary hiatuses

I don't look at belts as the benchmark of being the best. Manny didn't have a belt at 140 and was the best. Floyd doesn't need a belt at welter and would still be the best.

Boxing is a poor mans sport. Why would rich kids box? So there won't be a decline in black boxers because the hood isn't going anywhere real soon.

yeah, we've been over this plenty - there are almost no boxing clubs anywhere in the US except for in the ghettos

I knew this would come up.

Ward is black. If Ward was alive in the 40's, 50's and 60's, would he be sitting in the front or back of the bus?

              Sit your silly ass down.

There may be less Hispanic champions compared to before because of the rise of Asian and eastern European fighters , but the most depth is in mexico. There's mexico based fighters with ugly records that can fight .

Wherever there is poverty, there will be boxing champions . eastern Europe has low wages and not great economys so many parents and kids see it as a way to make money.

Also, people are generally just less tough these days, couple that with a wariness of dangers of boxing with public figures like Ali having Parkinson's and you get less people participating in boxing in america. There are also more welfare programs now such an unemployment benefits and obamacare which affects African Americans the most and leads them to become dependent on those programs rather than turn to boxing to make money.

Boxing is very top heavy and it's a short career. You have a few select guys making ridiculous money, and then we even saw on the weekend Washington and miller making 25k each and that's before tax which is apparently high in new York and trainer fees etc. Both guys, washington in particular , took some big punches .It also does not help optics of boxing when you see and hear fighters from past generations not only punch drunk but also broke. Boxing is full of leeches who prey on boxers and hustle them .

There has to be a standard when claiming who the best is. It's based off The Ring, last I checked. In order to be considered The Ring Champion, you have to have unified a division.

If you haven't at least unified a division then you can't consider yourself to be best in the division. Do you think they pick who's the best in the division off lparm's opinion?

Blacks have 4 Ring Champions in boxing. Whites have 1 in Gennady Golovkin who is actually Asian
