Neither fighter was under contract to Dazn following that fight. So it could not be stipulated the rematch had to be on Dazn.

PBC is saying the rematch is a Fox PPV or the rematch is not happening.

The only way to have avoided this mess was to have AJ win. I think everyone who knows boxing knew this. Yeah a lot of UK fans acted like they were giving copies of the contracts. Another thing is does DAZN want to pay over $30 million again for a fight that got in the high tens of thousands to the low hundreds of thousands of viewers? And if it's in the UK they aren't paying as much as they did for the first fight. You can't expect AJ or Ruiz to take less money than what they could get on the open market.

And not worth it because it's not going to bring subs. Competing against College football conference championships. It's a fight Showtime would pay more for because they'll have the rights to the fight for a future Wilder/Ruiz fight. And they can advertise it to show the replay later at night. Klitschko vs. AJ on HBO replay got higher ratings than the live broadcast on Showtime

I don’t really see a path for Haymon to avoid this rematch.
Play hardball and Hearn will sue to keep him from taking another fight and put him on the shelf. Eventually he’d be stripped of the titles.
Better off taking the rematch now. If he thinks Ruiz can knock him out again then the location or refs don’t matter as much. Then he can match him up with Wilder and can control the titles either way.
