Default If Showtimes’ offer to Wilder matched DAZN’s...

Showtime and Shelly Finkle are claiming the Showtime offer to Wilder matches what DAZN was offering for the Brezeale fight.

If that’s the case, why would Wilder be expected to sign longer deals with DAZN or ESPN? He can try to negotiate with Fury or Joshua after he fights Breazeale on Showtime, make the same money and he won’t be tied down to a network.

TIA for your opinions!!!

You're entirely right. In fact he can negotiate with Joshua and Fury after Breazeale and take the bigger deal.

Finkel didn't claim that. He said Wilder COULD make a deal that matches or surpasses what DAZN offered, NOT THAT THEY HAD. Wilder supporters are trying to mislead people.

Not true, their offer doesn't match the DAZN's offer for Breazeale, "loyalty" fills the gap between what Showtime is paying him and what DAZN offered, according to Espinoza.

And by longer deals, it's only 3 fights, max 4 if he opted for that option. He can do that in 18 months and be done with it and then negotiate further multi-million deals. The DAZN deal wasn't like an old Top Rank deal where they lock you down for 5 years or so.

Deontay is 33, how more max years does he have in the sport at the level? It makes common sense to have taken the $100 or $120 million now and by late 2020 he's a free again and do greater things.

I guess they're all looking past Breazeale.
Anyway, however you slice and dice it - the guy is clearly not too excited about sharing a ring with Joshua.

Wilder is taking the riskier but possibly more lucrative fight. His team obviously believes the Joshua fight will be come huge this statements like "Mayweather training camp money". They'll look to negotiate with Fury or Joshua after Breazeale and see where they can get the most money.

It's as if some of you guys think Wilder turned down a Joshua fight next. He had to fight Breazeale next no matter the network.
