Golovkin may not have had any stern challenges this year, but he surpassed those other fighters in marketing. His show vs Wade had the highest HBO rating this year so far and drew over 16k fans. Even his fight vs Brook had higher ratings than Crawford replay vs Postol or Ward's fight vs Brand or Kovalev's fight vs Chilmeba, we'll see how it compares to the Ward/Kovalev replay. And growing his brand in Europe with the Brook fight is significant for making future fights there. GGG's year wasn't wasted.

Golovkin easily destroys Koborov, but he has a point when you end the year fighting Dominic Wade and a man two weight's below and has never had a fight in the weight you guys fought at, it doesn't look too good

There are more and more boxers coming out saying that GGG is fighting smaller guys and questioning is matchmaking. I'm not saying that this is right, but it does make me wonder how a lot of the pro boxers view GGG as a competitor...

People calling him out usually are ones that either hype their own fight or have no shot of getting in the ring with him.

You act like ggg hasn't tried to get every top fighter in his class since 2012. Funny too, the guys he has fought were mostly all in the top 10 of ring mag MW. We're not a single guy you named has been fighting consistently too guys.

The right question here is 'why no Jacobs?' (yet)

We've got this virulent dynamic in boxing now where opponents are demanding high levels of compensation to take on anyone they are likely to lose to. We will see it with Loma too.

Canelo, Mayweather, Pac, can/could all meet the bride prices being demanded. If all of Lee, Quillin, Jacobs, Saunders and the rest were jostling for position to get at GGG, do you seriously doubt GGG wouldn't take them all on in the same year ? (if he could).

Right question is what's stopping it from happening. Why is Saunders allowed to fight someone ranked as low as Akavov as a mandatory ? Why couldn't Jacobs be ready for December- when WILL he be ready ? Quillin needs to get back in the game, why isn't he jostling for a shot at all of GGG's belts ? Lee has stated he would go there - why aren't we seeing it ? WTF is going on with Eubank Jr ?

Do we really think GGG is the problem here in not getting these fights made ? Why ? What would YOU do differently if you were managing him ? Pay the higher bride prices ? (serious questions - is it really just about paying the higher bride prices in circumstances where there might not be enough money to satisfy each boxers requirements ?)

rip GGG all you want about Brook, but that fight only went down because Eubank got in a war with his OWN promoter, and his OWN promoter said f this, so Brook stepped up. Would you rather have seen GGG go inactive instead after Eubank suicide-bombed the fight with GGG ? What alternative would you have pushed under those circumstances ?
